BADGERS LAND NORTHERN KENTUCKY STAR CENTER IN TRANSFER PORTAL

Wisconsin Badgers head coach Marisa Moseley has acquired a much-needed addition to the roster via the transfer portal, as former Northern Kentucky center Carter McCray committed to the team on Tuesday.

Matching the current state of college athletics the Badgers are experiencing a total roster overhaul with four young players entering the transfer portal since the team’s loss to St. Louis University in the WNIT.

Freshman Imbia Jones was the most recent departure from the program following the lead of Ana Guillen, Sania Copeland, and Tessa Towers.

Wisconsin’s outflux of talent makes the acquisition of McCray a much-needed move for a Badgers team that seemed to make a step in the right direction this past season.

McCray was a prolific scorer for the Norse in the 2023-24 season with an average of 15.7 points and surpassing the 20-point mark in nine games throughout the season. The freshman also averaged a double-double with 11.7 rebounds per game as well.

McCray is an exciting addition to the slowly ascending Wisconsin program and will complement the roster built around skilled forward Serah Williams and guard Ronnie Porter in the 2024-25 season.
